Walter Newton was born in 1981 in Glasgow.

He remained there for the next 21 years, attending the Glasgow School of Art before being lured to the bright lights of London and the Royal College of Art, where he met Russell Weekes and Sam Kerr, resulting in the formation of Lie-ins and Tigers.

After ten years in Birmingham, he has returned to Scotland, where he emerges from lochs and stands on top of misty hills, with his whisky-soaked kilt and ginger locks flowing in the wind, as well as drawing pictures and sporadically animating for anyone that will let him near them.

He is represented by Debut Art.
