Bare Bones Issue 3

Friday, March 26th, 2010

The third issue of Bare Bones is almost upon us – and this issue’s featured artists are Lie-ins And Tigers, the devilishly handsome trio of talent, one of which happens to be me.  This means we’ve got the front and back covers, a centre spread and an interview at the back.  And some pictures in at the exhibition/launch of the magazine at the Neu Gallery, which is apparently found at 30a Redchurch Street (behind Bethnal Green Road) in London – available for your eyes to view from April 1st – May 2nd 2010.

Pop-Up Arts Shop

Friday, March 26th, 2010

As well as the Created In Birmingham stuff in the post below, I’ve got a print in another exhibition in Birmingham –  the Pop-Up Arts Shop across the road in the unit formerly known as the Disney Store in the Pavilions.  It’s a similar deal to the Created In Birmingham stuff, but with only 25 of us exhibiting and only for five days – Friday 2nd April until Wednesday 7th April (excluding Easter Sunday).  So, y’know, go have a look if you’re in the area.

Edit: Now that the show is down I can show the silkscreen print I had on display:

Created in Birmingham

Friday, March 26th, 2010

In the Bullring (a big shopping centre in Birmingham) just now, some enterprising chaps and chapesses have managed to put together a shop to showcase work that was created in Birmingham.  In order to get this point across, they’ve called the shop Created In Birmingham.  Anyone can put stuff in (as long as they’re based in Birmingham), so I put a print in today and expect to be putting in some more at some point soon.

It’s kind of across from the Apple Store, you should go have a look – there’s lots of nice stuff in it.

Bare Bones Issue 2

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

I’m a couple of weeks late with this one, but Bare Bones Issue 2 was unleashed on an unsuspecting public at the end of December.  There are 1000 copies floating around somewhere, with loads of lovely illustrations and writings in it.  And we give it away for free, because that’s just how generous we are.  Anyway, these were my contributions:

FF

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

One of my old Uni buddies (Hi Hang!) asked if I wanted to do a drawing based “on the theme of Youth” for a Korean web-magazine (I’m not sure if it also exists in paper form in Korea) called FF.  So I did this.
